Our Commitment to You

When you invite 5-Star Plumbing into your home, you deserve to know exactly what you’re getting — and exactly what to expect. This Service Agreement outlines the terms that govern every job we perform, from a simple faucet repair to a full repiping project. No fine print designed to confuse. No surprises on the invoice. Just a straightforward agreement between a licensed plumber and a homeowner who wants the job done right.

By scheduling service with 5-Star Plumbing INC (CA License #1038276), you acknowledge and accept the terms described on this page.

1. Estimates & Pricing

We provide upfront, flat-rate pricing before any work begins. Your technician will assess the issue, explain the recommended solution, and present a written estimate for your approval. We do not start work without your authorization.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Estimates are based on visible conditions at the time of inspection. If additional issues are discovered once work is underway — for example, concealed pipe damage behind a wall — your technician will stop, explain what was found, and provide a revised estimate before proceeding.
  • Diagnostic fees, where applicable, will be disclosed upfront and credited toward the cost of service if you choose to proceed.
  • All pricing includes labor and standard materials unless otherwise specified in writing.

2. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of service unless a financing arrangement has been established in advance.

We accept: major credit cards, debit cards, checks, and cash.

Financing: 5-Star Plumbing INC offers flexible financing options for qualifying customers. Financing terms, interest rates, and approval are handled through our third-party financing partner. Ask your technician or call (916) 796-1233 to learn about available plans before your appointment.

For larger commercial or multi-phase projects, a deposit may be required prior to scheduling. This will be communicated clearly at the time of estimate.

Unpaid balances not resolved within 30 days of service completion may be subject to collection proceedings and applicable fees.

3. Warranties

We stand behind our work — period. 5-Star Plumbing INC provides the following warranties on residential services:

Labor Warranty: All workmanship is warranted for 1 year from the date of service completion. If a problem directly related to our work arises within this period, we will return and correct it at no additional charge.

Materials & Parts Warranty: Parts and materials installed by our technicians are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by product. We work with trusted brands including Moen, Culligan, and Kinetico — brands that back their products with industry-leading guarantees. Your technician will provide warranty documentation for any major components installed.

What warranties do not cover:

  • Issues caused by misuse, unauthorized modifications, or work performed by others after our service
  • Pre-existing conditions unrelated to the scope of completed work
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage resulting from extreme events (flooding, earthquakes, freezing temperatures in unheated spaces)

If you have a warranty concern, call us at (916) 796-1233. We respond promptly — no runaround, no voicemail maze.

4. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

We respect your time, and we ask for the same in return.

  • Cancellations or reschedules made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment: No charge, no hassle. Call or text us and we’ll find a new time that works for you.
  • Same-day cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice): A cancellation fee may apply. We’ll always notify you if this applies to your situation before confirming the charge.
  • No-shows: If our technician arrives and no one is available to provide access to the property, a trip charge will apply.

For emergency calls, we understand that situations change. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or redirect an emergency appointment — we’ll work with you.

5. Scope of Work & Property Access

To perform work safely and effectively, our technicians require reasonable access to the relevant areas of your property — including utility shutoffs, crawl spaces, or access panels as needed.

The customer is responsible for:

  • Ensuring access to the work area before the technician’s arrival
  • Removing personal belongings, pets, or obstructions from the work area
  • Disclosing any known property conditions that may affect the work (previous repairs, unpermitted modifications, etc.)

5-Star Plumbing INC is not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by restricted access or undisclosed property conditions.

6. Permits & Code Compliance

Some plumbing work in Sacramento County requires a permit from the local building authority. Where permits are required by California code, 5-Star Plumbing INC will inform you prior to beginning work. Permit fees are not included in standard estimates unless explicitly stated.

Work is performed in compliance with the California Plumbing Code and all applicable local ordinances. We do not perform work that would knowingly violate building codes or safety standards.

7. Liability

5-Star Plumbing INC carries full general liability insurance and is bonded as required by the State of California.

Our liability is limited to the direct cost of the service performed. We are not liable for:

  • Incidental or consequential damages (lost income, temporary housing costs, spoiled goods, etc.)
  • Pre-existing conditions or damage present before our technician arrived
  • Damage caused by circumstances outside our control, including but not limited to water pressure issues originating from municipal supply, acts of nature, or third-party interference
  • Any work performed outside the agreed scope without written authorization

If you believe our technician caused damage to your property during service, notify us in writing within 5 business days of the service date. We take every such claim seriously and will investigate promptly.

8. Dispute Resolution

We sincerely hope it never comes to this — and with nearly 12 years serving Sacramento County homeowners and a 4.9-star rating across thousands of reviews, it rarely does. But if a dispute arises:

  1. Contact us directly first: (916) 796-1233 or through our website. Most issues are resolved with a single conversation.
  2. If we cannot reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, with Sacramento County as the venue of jurisdiction.

9. Agreement Acceptance

By scheduling and accepting service from 5-Star Plumbing INC, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined in this Service Agreement. This agreement applies to all residential plumbing services performed at your property.

This agreement does not affect any statutory rights you hold as a California consumer.
