When Replacing Beats Repairing

A good faucet is worth repairing. A worn out one turns into a series of small repairs that add up to more than the replacement would have cost. These are the cases where installation is the better call.

  • The drip came back within months of a new cartridge
  • Green or white corrosion around the base, the handle, or the connections
  • The handle is loose, stiff, or no longer stops in a predictable spot
  • Water seeping from under the base and collecting on the deck or in the cabinet
  • The pull-down sprayer will not retract or the hose has started leaking inside the cabinet
  • The faucet is fifteen years or older, or came with the house and has never been touched
  • You are remodeling and the new sink has a different hole configuration

Hard water is the reason faucets in this region wear out faster than the manufacturer expected. Mineral deposits chew through cartridges, seats, and aerators from the inside. If you are replacing faucets faster than feels normal, the fixture is the symptom. See water softener installation.

What the Installation Includes

  • Shutoff and removal. Water off, old faucet disconnected and pulled, deck cleaned down to bare surface.
  • Angle stops checked. The shutoff valves under your sink are often older than the faucet. If one is seized or weeping, we tell you before we replace it, with the price attached.
  • New braided supply lines. Correct length and correct fittings, every time. Reusing old lines is where slow cabinet leaks come from.
  • Mount and seal. Faucet set level, gasket or plumber’s putty seated properly, mounting hardware torqued so the base does not rock in six months.
  • Accessories connected. Side sprayer, soap dispenser, and air gap reconnected where they are part of the setup.
  • Pressure test. Water back on, both handles run, every connection checked under pressure with the cabinet dry when we finish.
  • Cleanup and haul-away. The old faucet and packaging leave with us.

Faucets We Install

Kitchen

Pull-down and pull-out models, single-handle and two-handle, deck mount and wall mount, plus bar and prep sink faucets. The detail that trips people up is the hole count: a three hole sink and a single hole faucet need a deck plate, and we bring one rather than leaving you with exposed holes.

Bathroom

Centerset, widespread, single-hole, wall mount, and vessel sink faucets. On widespread sets we confirm the spread matches your existing deck holes before anything gets unpacked.

Laundry and utility

Utility sink faucets and washing machine box valves, including the older two-valve setups that no longer shut off cleanly.

Outdoor

Hose bibbs and frost-free sillcocks, including replacements for the ones that split after a hard freeze and now spray inside the wall every time you open them.

Already Bought the Faucet? Bring It.

We install faucets that customers purchase themselves, and it is one of the most common ways this job comes to us. Buy the finish and the style you actually want, and we make it work with your sink.

Two practical notes. Check the hole count and spacing on your sink against the faucet before you buy, or send us a photo and we will check it for you. And keep the box: the manufacturer covers the faucet itself, while our one year warranty covers the installation. If a customer-supplied faucet turns out to be missing parts or arrives damaged, we will tell you on the spot instead of forcing it in.
